About Chris

Chris is a screenwriter based in Edinburgh, represented by Lucy Fawcett at Sheil Land Associates in London. He currently writes for BBC One's medical drama Holby City and BBC Scotland's continuing drama River City, as well as developing original work for a number of UK Indies.

He broke into TV after his original pilot Starfall was a finalist in the 2010 Red Planet Prize. As a result he was mentored by the teams at Red Planet & Kudos and developed projects for them. In 2011 he storylined kids show M.I. High and in 2013 graduated from both the Holby City and River City shadow schemes. He has developed original work for Hat Trick, 2AM TV, La Plante Productions and BBC Radio Scotland. He also wrote a piece of additional material for the adaption of Cloud Atlas, directed by Tom Tykwer and The Wachowskis.

His introduction to screenwriting came at age 17, contributing material to a feature length student film. From there he went on to complete a media and culture degree at Queen Margaret University. After graduating he began producing short films and promos before deciding to focus on writing as a career. Between 2009 and 2011 he undertook an MA in Screenwriting at Screen Academy Scotland - which he completed with "Distinction".

He likes pubs more than clubs and loves all the Star Wars films. He has a twitter account that he keeps slightly more up to date than this blog!
